NITROX®
The NITROX Security Processor family targets medium-to-high performance applications in the Enterprise and Edge market segments. These custom-designed processors provide much lower area, cost and power consumption than ASIC-based security chips. At the heart of the NITROX processor are multiple micro-programmed GigaCipher cores, which allow for future upgrades and provide flexible support for all cryptographic operations and protocol layer functions. This family provides 1 Gbps to 3.2 Gbps of IPsec throughput and 14-42K RSA Ops. NITROX is the only security processor that can process high-level IPsec and IKE, IPv6, SSL and Wireless LAN security protocol macro commands, reducing the host I/O traffic and dramatically reduce the load on the system processor, increasing total system throughput. The NITROX SDK includes an evaluation board with modified Linux kernel, Free S/WAN or OpenSSL stacks using Cavium Networks Network's TurboIPsec/SSL Macro APIs, as well as software drivers for Linux, BSD and VxWorks.
