Unveils KiLIN-6035 – Ideal Networking Platform with
16 GHz MIPS64®-Based Processor with Integrated Application
Coprocessors
KiLIN-6035 offers unprecedented networking
performance with low-power in 1U form factor
Taipei, Taiwan , October 9, 2006 –
Portwell Inc, a leading supplier of Internet Security Appliances
today announced the KiLIN-6035, its newest member to the existing
KiLIN family of products based on Cavium Networks OCTEON CN38XX
Multi-core MIPS64 family of processors that are available
today. The KiLIN-6035 platforms will double the performance
of the existing KiLIN platforms by adopting the new OCTEON™
CN58XX Multi-core MIPS64 processor available from Cavium Networks.
The new KiLIN-6035 platforms will feature up to 16 MIPS64-based
cnMIPS Plus CPU cores at 1GHz with up to 2MB of L2 cache,
16GB DDR2-800 DRAM capacity, integrated high-performance
networking interfaces along with hardware acceleration for
packet processing, QoS, TCP and optional encryption, compression
/ decompression and pattern-matching. The KiLIN platforms
are available with complete support for Cavium Networks
Software Development Kit.
The KiLIN platform is an ideal networking solution for
networking ODMs building edge routers and gateways, intelligent
content aware switches, WiMax, 3G wireless equipment, Linux
based network servers and Unified Threat Management (UTM)
appliances with integrated Firewall, IPsec and SSL VPN,
Intrusion Detection and Anti-Virus scanning.

The OCTEON processor family is a scalable Multi-core MIPS64-based
processor family with 4 to 16 cores on a single chip at
up to 1 GHz with integrated 8x Ethernet and/or 2x SPI4.2
networking interfaces, integrated 144-bit 800-DDR2 memory
controller, 2x 18-bit RLDRAM memory controller, TCAM connectivity
and internal hardware acceleration for packet processing,
TCP, optional encryption, compression / decompression and
