Networks Announces Industry’s First 10Gbps IPsec and
SSL PCI-Express Security Accelerators
NITROX PX XL accelerators significantly boost
IPsec, SSL, Storage Encryption performance of x86 systems
to achieve up to 10Gbps and up to 65,000 RSA OPS; NITROX PX
XL accelerators on display at Intel Developers Forum
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 17, 2007 –
Cavium Networks (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of highly
integrated semiconductor products that enable intelligent
processing for networking, communications, storage and security
applications, today announced NITROX PX XL PCI-Express security
accelerators, for high performance security, networking and
storage applications. The NITROX PX XL accelerators are the
latest addition to the family of market-leading NITROX XL
security accelerators from Cavium Networks. These accelerators
provide industry leading performance of 65,000 RSA operations/second
and 10 Gbps throughput, latest security algorithm support
and PCI Express x4 or x8 lane connectivity. The NITROX PX
XL accelerators are ideal for cutting edge applications in
Application Traffic Management, WAN Optimization, Security
Appliances, Service Provider Infrastructure Equipment and
Storage Equipment.
Cavium Networks’ NITROX PX XL Accelerator
accelerators are on display at the Intel Developer Forum,
San Francisco, Sept 18 -20, 2007 and Cavium Networks is participating
in a panel discussion at IDF about trends of networking and
application acceleration processors.
“With the highest performance product
line, a broad range of interface connectivity, and support
for the latest algorithms and protocols, Cavium Networks has
established itself as the worldwide market-share leader in
network-security accelerators“, said Bob Wheeler, senior
analyst with The Linley Group. “This new product will
help Cavium’s existing customers in networking, UTM,
L4-L7 and SSL Server applications as well as newer customers
requiring an easy-to-integrate solution.”
The NITROX PX XL PCI-Express Accelerators
The NITROX PX XL provides a high-performance, power efficient
PCI-Express security accelerator for a broad range of networking,
security and storage applications. Key features and benefits
include:
-
Compact design that fits in a single-slot
with PCI-Express x4, x8 lane connectivity. These accelerators
support up to four (4) NITROX PX CN1620 security processors,
which include security related packet and protocol processing,
encryption/decryption and asymmetric processing.
-
The latest, future-proof cryptographic
algorithms which include symmetric algorithms DES, 3DES,
ARC4, AES 256-bit (ECB, CBC, XCBC,CNTR, GCM), Data-at-rest
storage security AES algorithms, hashing algorithms MD5,
SHA-1, SHA-2, MAC-MD5/SHA-1/SHA-2,HMAC-MD5/SHA-1/SHA-2,
asymmetric algorithms RSA (4096 w/o CRT), Diffie-Hellman
and KASUMI for 3G / 4G wireless applications...
-
Simultaneous multi-protocol support
for SSL, IPsec and other security protocols while providing
adaptive processing between session-setup and bulk processing.
NITROX PX XL accelerators enable industry’s
highest performance for SSL and IPsec within a single PCI-Express
card, including SSL performance of up to 65,000 SSL transactions
per second and 10Gbps SSL record processing (ARC4 + MD5),
and IPsec performance of up to 10Gbps of 3DES+SHA1 packet
processing, 90K (180 bit exp) Diffie-Hellman operations/second.
NITROX PX XL Accelerator Software
Support
The NITROX PX XL accelerator family is supported by a rich
set of software, including Linux, BSD and operating system
independent drivers, and APIs for IPsec, SSL and crypto processing
used in storage security applications.
“Cavium’s NITROX PX XL accelerators
enable networking, storage and wireless vendors to quickly
integrate high-performance security acceleration with the
latest algorithms,” said Rajneesh Gaur, Director of
Product Marketing at Cavium Networks. “Building upon
the success of our existing NITROX security processor family
and recent collaboration announcement with Intel we look forward
to provide our customers with world-class application acceleration
solutions.”
Availability and Pricing
Samples for NITROX PX XL NHB4 accelerators are available now.
Pricing in 100 unit quantities is $1250.
