| OCTEON™ Plus CN52XX Multi-Core MIPS64 Based SoC Processors |
The OCTEON Plus CN52XX family of Multi-core MIPS64 processors targets intelligent wireless, networking, storage, and control plane applications in next-generation equipment. The family includes four software and pin-compatible processors, with two to four cnMIPS64 cores at up to 750 MHz speed on a single chip that integrate next-generation SERDES-based networking I/Os including XAUI, along with the most advanced application hardware acceleration. CN52XX processors deliver up to full-duplex 4Gbps application performance.
The CN52XX provides an excellent processing platform for converged wireless basestation platforms, providing up to 7200 MIPS of compute power, high-bandwidth I/O, and essential acceleration for KASUMI encryption, QoS, robust header compression and packet acceleration with very low power consumption.
Additional acceleration for TCP, iSCSI, RAID, De-duplication, and the broadest set of encryption/decryption (including IEEE1619 for data-at-rest) support enables highly-integrated secure services router and low-cost storage switching, bridging, and NIC applications with 1G to 10G connectivity options.
Security hardware acceleration in the CN52XX implements the latest set of algorithms, including KASUMI support to enable future-proof designs for evolving wireless network requirements as well as IEEE 1619 for data-at-rest encryption.
Supported by an industry-standard software toolchain and operating systems, the CN52XX offers major performance, power and real-estate value proposition over alternatives.
